In the end of the charge or over charge, the battery will produce oxygen in the positive electrode;
The resulting oxygen is reduced to water after reaching the negative electrode surface through the membrane pores;
The negative electrode is reduced to sponge like lead in further charge;
Because the depolarization of the negative electrode in the end of charge and oxygen reaction inhibits the release of hydrogen, and oxygen generated by the positive electrode is absorbed by the negative, the pressure inside the battery will not further increase and the battery sealing operation can be ensured.
